Editorial Standards

Welcome to AnimeNagi. We believe anime fans deserve content that’s accurate, respectful, and made with genuine love for the medium. This page explains the standards we hold ourselves to when creating content, what you can expect from us, and how we stay accountable to our readers.

Our Mission

AnimeNagi exists to celebrate anime — from blockbuster releases to hidden gems. We write for fans who want honest reviews, reliable news, and thoughtful analysis without the clickbait or gatekeeping.

Whether you’re new to anime or have been watching since the VHS days, we want AnimeNagi to feel like a place where you belong.

What We Cover

  • News — Anime announcements, release dates, casting, studio updates, and industry developments
  • Reviews — Episode-by-episode coverage, full-season retrospectives, movie and manga reviews
  • Features — Character analyses, studio spotlights, genre deep dives, and editorials
  • Guides — Watch orders, beginner’s guides, where-to-watch information
  • Community — Fan art highlights, cosplay features, and reader polls (always with creator permission)

Our Core Standards

Accuracy First

Every news article we publish is sourced from verifiable, official, or trusted industry sources. When we report on rumors or leaks, we clearly label them as such — never as confirmed fact.

No Clickbait

Our headlines tell you what the article is actually about. We won’t trick you into clicking with vague teasers or misleading thumbnails. If a headline promises something, the article delivers it.

Spoiler Respect

We take spoilers seriously. Our policy:

  • Headlines, URLs, and featured images stay spoiler-free
  • Articles that contain spoilers always include a clear warning at the top
  • First-impression reviews (Episodes 1-3) are always spoiler-free
  • For manga readers writing about adapted anime, we use hidden sections so anime-only viewers can scroll safely

Honest Reviews

Our reviewers share their genuine opinions. We don’t soften reviews for studios, distributors, or popular franchises. If we received early access or a free copy, we tell you. If a writer is a longtime fan of a franchise, we disclose that too.

Independence

AnimeNagi is editorially independent. Sponsorships, affiliate links, and paid partnerships are always clearly labeled. No company can pay us for a positive review.

How We Source Our News

We rank our sources from most to least reliable:

  1. Official sources — Studio announcements, official social accounts, and press releases
  2. Trusted industry publications — Anime News Network, Crunchyroll News, Oricon, Natalie, and verified outlets
  3. Verified industry voices — Voice actors, directors, and animators speaking on official channels
  4. Translated Japanese sources — Always with translator credit
  5. Rumors and leaks — Clearly labeled and treated with caution

We always link to our original sources so you can verify the information yourself.

Our Stance on Imagery

  • Official anime artwork and screenshots are credited to the studio or distributor
  • Fan art is featured only with the artist’s explicit permission, with credit and a link to their work
  • Cosplay photos are featured only with the cosplayer’s explicit permission
  • AI-generated images are clearly disclosed when used

We never crop watermarks or repost artwork without consent. If you’re an artist who finds your work used without permission, please contact us — we’ll credit it properly or take it down immediately.

How We Handle Sensitive Content

Anime explores a wide range of themes, including some difficult ones. Here’s how we approach them:

Mature themes — We discuss sexuality, violence, mental health, and trauma in anime when relevant to the story, with care and context.

Underage characters — We never sexualize or describe underage characters in suggestive ways. This is a firm, non-negotiable line.

Industry controversies — We report factually, not sensationally. We don’t pile onto individuals.

Mental health themes — We handle topics like depression, self-harm, and suicide thoughtfully, never glorifying or romanticizing them.

On AI in Our Content

We believe in transparency about how content is made.

  • AI tools may be used for research, brainstorming, or editing assistance
  • AI-generated articles published as human-written content are not allowed on AnimeNagi
  • All facts are verified by human writers and editors before publication
  • AI-generated images, when used, are clearly labeled

When We Make Mistakes

We’re human, and sometimes we get things wrong. When that happens:

  • We acknowledge the error openly
  • We update the article with a clear correction note at the top
  • We note what was originally wrong and what the correct information is
  • We time-stamp every correction

We will never silently edit factual mistakes out of articles. If you spot an error, please email us at [email protected] — we read every message.

Our Community Standards

The comment sections and community spaces on AnimeNagi are for thoughtful discussion. We ask that you:

  • Be respectful, even in disagreement
  • Avoid spoilers in comment threads on new episode coverage
  • Skip personal attacks, harassment, and hate speech
  • Keep discussions on-topic

We moderate to keep AnimeNagi welcoming for everyone — from first-time visitors to longtime fans. Repeat violations result in bans.

Conflicts of Interest

Our writers and editors disclose:

  • Paid partnerships, sponsorships, or affiliate relationships
  • Free review copies or early access from studios/distributors
  • Personal involvement with any work being reviewed
  • Strong franchise loyalties when reviewing connected works

You’ll always know when content involves a financial or personal relationship.

We aim to respond to all reader emails within 5 business days.

A Final Word

Anime brings together millions of people across the world who care deeply about storytelling, animation, and craft. We take the responsibility of writing for that community seriously.

If we ever fall short of these standards, we want to know. Hold us accountable — that’s the only way we get better.

Thank you for reading AnimeNagi.
