Mob Psycho 100 has officially celebrated its 10th anime anniversary with a brand-new animated short that reunites much of the series’ original production staff.
The commemorative project premiered during the “Mob Psycho 100 Anime 10th Anniversary Event: Reunion” at Fukagawa Mirai Hall in Saitama before being released online with English subtitles, allowing fans around the world to join the celebration.
Original staff reunites for anniversary project
The anniversary short brings back fan-favorite characters Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama, Reigen Arataka, Dimple, and Tome Kurata at the Spirits and Such Consultation Office.
The project reunites several key members of the original anime staff. Yuzuru Tachikawa returned as director, writer, storyboard artist, and technical director, while longtime character designer Yoshimichi Kameda once again served as animation director. Kameda also created a special illustration to commemorate the milestone.
Reflecting on the production, Kameda shared that the original members of the anime’s production team reunited for the anniversary short, making the celebration especially meaningful for longtime fans.
A decade of Mob Psycho 100
Created by ONE, the creator of One-Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100 began serialization in 2012 before concluding in 2017 with 16 collected volumes. Studio Bones adapted the manga into an anime in 2016, earning widespread praise for its distinctive animation, emotional storytelling, and memorable characters.
The franchise continued to expand with a second season in 2019, the Mob Psycho 100 REIGEN special, a live-action adaptation, and Mob Psycho 100 III, which premiered in 2022. International audiences have been able to watch the series through Crunchyroll, which streamed all three seasons as they aired outside Asia.
While no new anime season has been announced, the 10th anniversary short serves as a heartfelt tribute to one of the most acclaimed supernatural anime of the past decade, celebrating both its enduring popularity and the creative team that helped bring ONE’s manga to life.
