Fans of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba are receiving a major new addition in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — The Hinokami Chronicles 2, as a new version of Shinobu Kocho arrives through downloadable content. A recently released English-dubbed trailer introduces Infinity Castle Shinobu Kocho, who is included in the Infinity Castle Arc Chapter 1 Character Pass. The character will be added on April 17 and brings fast-paced combat abilities centered around poison-based attacks.
Shinobu Kocho Insect Hashira uses poison speed and precise Insect Breathing techniques
Shinobu Kocho, known as the Insect Hashira, is one of the most unique fighters in the Demon Slayer Corps. Unlike other Hashira who rely on physical strength, she specializes in speed, precision, and poison-infused techniques. She first appears early in the series but becomes fully established in Chapter 28, where her background and role are explored in more detail. She is the younger sister of Kanae Kocho, the former Flower Hashira, and the adoptive older sister of Kanao Tsuyuri, which places her in close relation to several important characters in the story.

Her fighting style is based on Insect Breathing techniques, which allow her to deliver rapid and precise strikes coated in wisteria-based poison. This substance is highly effective against demons and is a key part of her combat strength. Shinobu further enhances her abilities by repeatedly exposing herself to poison over time, turning her own body into a source of toxin. This unique trait allows her to defeat powerful enemies despite lacking raw physical strength compared to other Hashira.
CyberConnect2 develops Hinokami Chronicles 2 adapting major Demon Slayer arcs worldwide success
The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is developed by CyberConnect2 and published by SEGA. It launched in August 2025 as a continuation of the first game released in 2021. The game follows Tanjiro Kamado’s journey and adapts several major story arcs from the anime, including the Entertainment District Arc, the Swordsmith Village Arc, and the Hashira Training Arc. It offers a story-driven mode where players relive key events from the series as well as a PvP mode where characters can battle each other in arena-style combat.
Since its release, the game has received generally favorable reviews. It holds a Metacritic score of 76 out of 100 and a user score of 6.9 out of 10, reflecting a mixed but mostly positive reception. Despite some criticism, ongoing updates and new character DLC additions continue to maintain player interest.
Meanwhile, anticipation for the Demon Slayer franchise remains high as the anime approaches its final chapters. The upcoming Infinity Castle film adaptations are expected to conclude the story following the massive success of earlier entries, which earned more than 781 million dollars worldwide and broke multiple box office records.
