Daemons of the Shadow Realm has officially been renewed for Season 2 following the conclusion of its first season in Japan. The announcement came immediately after the final episode aired on September 19, confirming that the anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s manga will continue beyond its initial 24 episodes.
The first season aired across two consecutive cours beginning in April 2026. The official website confirms that the series was produced by Bones Film, with Masahiro Ando directing, while the second cour began airing in July before the September 19 finale.
Season 2 Continues Yuru and Asa’s Supernatural Story
The announcement arrives as the anime’s story continues to explore twins Yuru and Asa, who were separated during childhood and raised without knowing the full truth about their origins. In Daemons of the Shadow Realm, certain humans can command supernatural pairs known as Daemons, and the twins are connected to a mysterious destiny involving these powerful beings.
The series is based on Arakawa’s Yomi no Tsugai manga, which began serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan in December 2021. The official anime website describes the series as a supernatural fantasy centered on the mysterious bond between its characters and their Daemons.
No release date or episode count has been announced yet for Season 2. The production announcement currently confirms the continuation, while further details about the returning staff, cast and broadcast schedule are expected later.
The first season featured Kensho Ono as Yuru, Yume Miyamoto as Asa, Yuichi Nakamura as Dera and Misaki Kuno as Gabu-chan. Masahiro Ando directed the series at Bones Film, with Noboru Takagi overseeing the scripts, Nobuhiro Arai handling character designs and Kenichiro Suehiro composing the music.
International viewers can watch the first season through Crunchyroll, which streamed the series alongside its Japanese broadcast.
