Crunchyroll has confirmed that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will begin streaming on October 11, 2026, giving international fans access to the new enhanced version of the Dragon Ball Super anime. The series will stream in Japanese with English subtitles across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
The new series represents a significant revision of the original Dragon Ball Super television anime rather than a completely new story. The project features reconstructed scenes, newly created cuts and updated visuals designed to bring the series closer to the original vision of creator Akira Toriyama.
Crunchyroll Brings the New Series to International Viewers
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will premiere on Crunchyroll internationally on October 11.
In Japan, Fuji TV and its affiliates will begin broadcasting the anime at 11:15 p.m. JST. Amazon Prime Video and U-NEXT will then make each episode available 30 minutes after the television broadcast.
Netflix will also carry the series, with its U.S. streaming debut scheduled for October 17. The platform has listed earlier availability in select international regions.
The first episode will receive an advance screening at the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus special panel during New York Comic Con on October 8.
The project is being presented as an “ENHANCED” edition of Dragon Ball Super. According to the production team, the anime includes new and redrawn cuts, revisions to existing scenes, completely re-rendered footage, newly recorded dialogue, additional sound effects and a reconstructed story.
Akio Iyoku said the project began several years ago and was developed as an enhanced version of the original television anime.
The production team stated that the goal is to provide a more immersive presentation, particularly during the series’ major battles, while expressing Toriyama’s original ideas and worldbuilding more accurately.
Tadayoshi Yamamuro returns as animation character designer and general animation director, while Matsuto Seya handles composition and direction arrangement. Norihito Sumitomo returns for the music, with Eiichi Nishimura handling editing and Yōsuke Motoki serving as compositing director.
Kōichi Yamadera will once again voice Beerus, while MEGATERA・ZERO performs the opening theme “ONOGAMI.” VK Blanka performs the ending song “Kan Peki No Peki.”
The story begins several years after the battle with Majin Buu, when Earth has entered a period of relative peace. That changes when Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from his long sleep.
After hearing about the Saiyan who defeated Frieza, Beerus seeks out Goku. His arrival places Earth in danger and leads to a massive confrontation between the God of Destruction and Goku and his allies.
The original Dragon Ball Super aired for 131 episodes from July 2015 through March 2018. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus now gives Toei Animation an opportunity to revisit that story with substantially revised visuals, sound and presentation.
