The upcoming anime adaptation of I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand has officially locked in its premiere date, with a newly released promotional video confirming a July 3 debut.
The latest trailer not only showcases fresh footage but also previews the series’ opening and ending theme songs, building anticipation among anime fans ahead of its launch.
The anime will first stream globally on Amazon Prime Video before expanding to additional platforms and television networks shortly after.
Theme Songs Bring Emotional Tone to the Series
Music plays a central role in shaping the anime’s atmosphere, and the production team has brought in notable artists for both themes. The opening track, titled “Soredemo Donten o Koeteyuku” (“Even So, We Go Past the Cloudy Skies”), is performed by the rock band sajou no hana.
Meanwhile, the ending theme “Ari Kitari na Nichijō to Kōun na Hibi e” is performed by MEISHOHIKOKAI, adding a contrasting emotional layer that reflects the quieter, reflective moments of the story.
The newly released trailer offers fans a preview of both tracks, giving an early sense of the anime’s tonal range—from intense battles to introspective character moments.
The anime will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on July 3, offering early access to viewers worldwide. It will then expand to Japanese streaming platforms like ABEMA and d Anime Store on July 6, alongside its television broadcast debut on multiple networks, including Tokyo MX and BS11.
Additionally, the series is scheduled to air on AT-X starting July 9, ensuring a wide rollout across both digital and traditional platforms. The staggered release strategy reflects a growing trend in anime distribution, prioritizing global streaming audiences while maintaining domestic broadcast schedules.
A Story of Survival, Legacy, and Identity
Based on the light novel series by Ezogingitune and illustrated by DeeCHA, the anime follows a unique fantasy premise. The story centers on Luck, a warrior who chooses to stay behind and hold off a relentless demonic invasion so his allies can escape.
Against all odds, he survives for ten years, eventually emerging victorious and becoming a living legend. However, the narrative begins after this achievement, focusing on how Luck adapts to a world that now sees him as both a hero and an outsider.
As described in official materials, the story explores “what it means to live after becoming a legend,” blending action with themes of identity, purpose, and reintegration into society.
Experienced Staff and Voice Cast Behind the Project
The anime is directed by Hiroyuki Kanbe at studio Gekkō, with series composition handled by Mitsutaka Hirota. Character design is led by Majiro, known for work on Macross Delta.
The voice cast includes Gakuto Kajiwara as Luck, alongside a strong supporting lineup featuring Yui Ishikawa and Toshiyuki Morikawa.
This experienced team suggests a production that aims to balance action-driven storytelling with strong character development.
Since its debut as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2018, the series has expanded into a successful light novel and manga franchise. With over 4.45 million copies in circulation, it has built a solid fanbase leading into the anime adaptation.
The upcoming eighth volume of the light novel, scheduled for release in July, further highlights the series’ continued momentum.
