Jiren’s full-power transformation pushes Universe 7 to the edge of defeat in Dragon Ball Super. Even with Goku, Vegeta, and Android 17 attacking together, the Pride Trooper overwhelms them with his incredible strength and devastating energy. As Goku and Vegeta collapse from their injuries, Jiren prepares a powerful blast that threatens to eliminate the remaining fighters from Universe 7. Android 17 steps forward, determined to protect his teammates even though he knows he cannot match Jiren’s raw power.

The confrontation reaches its emotional peak in Episode 127, titled “The Approaching Wall! A Hopeful Final Barrier!” Android 17 creates protective barriers around Goku and Vegeta while attempting to stop Jiren’s attack. His decision turns the battle into a defining moment for Universe 7, demonstrating that survival depends on sacrifice and teamwork as much as individual strength.

HOW ANDROID 17’S FINAL BARRIER COUNTERS JIREN’S FULL POWER

Jiren reveals his full power after Vegeta defeats Toppo, making it clear that Universe 7 still faces an opponent far beyond their exhausted fighters. Goku and Vegeta launch repeated attacks, but Jiren easily counters them and leaves both Saiyans unable to continue fighting effectively. Android 17 tries to exploit Jiren’s defenses with a surprise attack, briefly injuring him, but the Pride Trooper quickly regains control of the battle.

Jiren then fires a devastating energy blast toward Goku and Vegeta. Android 17 responds by forming a large barrier to hold back the attack and separate his teammates from the incoming destruction. When he realizes that defending against Jiren’s full power is not enough, he places protective barriers around the two Saiyans and uses an explosion to destroy the incoming blast, seemingly sacrificing himself in the process.

The final barrier works because Android 17 uses his energy strategically rather than trying to overpower Jiren directly. His sacrifice removes the immediate threat and gives Goku and Vegeta time to recover, although it does not defeat Jiren. The episode also reveals a key difference between the fighters: Jiren believes overwhelming strength determines the outcome, while Android 17 is willing to risk everything for his teammates.

Android 17’s apparent death is not the end of his role in the tournament. He survives and returns during the final battle, eventually helping Goku and Frieza eliminate Jiren. His last stand therefore becomes a turning point in the Tournament of Power, proving that even against an opponent as powerful as Jiren, courage, tactical thinking, and teamwork can change the outcome.
