My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi has celebrated the release of the new anime short My Hero Academia: I am a hero too by sharing special illustrations featuring some of the franchise’s beloved characters. The artwork gives fans a new look at adult Izuku Midoriya (Deku) and a teenage version of Eri.
Horikoshi posted the illustrations through his official social media accounts ahead of the short anime’s Japanese premiere. The first artwork showed adult Deku with a message promoting the upcoming broadcast, while the second featured teenage Eri alongside Class 1-A characters including Momo Yaoyorozu, Kyoka Jiro, Fumikage Tokoyami, Katsuki Bakugo, and Denki Kaminari.
The I am a hero too short focuses on Eri as she follows her dream of becoming involved in music. The episode also reveals that Deku has returned to hero activities while continuing his responsibilities as a teacher.
The short originally premiered at Anime Expo before receiving a Japanese release through the Character Match Up event and streaming platforms. Crunchyroll is streaming the episode internationally outside Asia.
The new project is part of the My Hero Academia 10th anniversary celebration, following the previous short anime episode “More,” which expanded the manga’s story beyond the main series.
The main My Hero Academia anime concluded with its eighth and final season, which aired its final episode in December 2025.
