Pokémon Horizons is bringing a musical crossover to the anime with the addition of Japanese idol group CUTIE STREET.
The group’s members are set to make guest appearances in Episode 147 as the Pikachu-themed idol unit Cutie Pika Pika, expanding their involvement with the series after performing its current ending theme.
Cutie Pika Pika was first introduced through the cover artwork for the anime’s ending theme, “Cute na Kyūtai,” before making its on-screen debut in the upcoming episode.
CUTIE STREET joins the world of Pokémon Horizons
The guest appearance marks another collaboration between the anime and CUTIE STREET, whose ending song has become part of the series’ latest lineup. Alongside the announcement, the anime’s staff also released a new music video for the opening theme “Sekai Tsunagare.” The song is produced by HoneyWorks and performed by lead voice actresses Minori Suzuki (Liko) and Yuka Terasaki (Roy), further highlighting the show’s growing musical focus.
The current Wonder Voyage arc premiered in May 2026 and continues the adventures of protagonists Liko and Roy. Promotional artwork for the storyline features visual references inspired by Pokémon GO, Pokémon Unite, and Pokémon Sleep, while introducing Navi, a Lumiose City resident voiced by Yū Serizawa.
Since premiering in Japan in April 2023, Pokémon Horizons has established itself as a fresh chapter for the franchise by replacing Ash Ketchum with new protagonists Liko and Roy. The series also introduced original characters such as Friede and Captain Pikachu while featuring Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, including the Shiny Legendary Rayquaza.
Directed by Saori Den with Daiki Tomiyasu serving as creative director, the anime continues to evolve through multiple story arcs. Internationally, Netflix has gradually rolled out new seasons, helping the series reach a global audience while supporting the broader Pokémon franchise, which recently expanded further with the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
