Netflix has unveiled a new SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 character trailer, giving fans their first look at three characters who will play important roles in the next chapter of Taro Sakamoto’s story. The trailer introduces Etsuko Satoda, Amane Yotsumura and Satoru Yatsumura as the former legendary hitman’s peaceful life becomes increasingly difficult to protect.
The new footage arrives as part of Netflix’s latest animation and anime announcements and confirms that Sakamoto Days Season 2 will premiere in January 2027. With new enemies, deeper conspiracies and connections to Sakamoto’s past, the upcoming season is set to expand the dangerous assassin world surrounding the former hitman.
The series follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary assassin who abandoned his violent profession to live quietly with his beloved family. However, powerful assassins and the mysterious X, also known as Slur, continue to threaten the peaceful life he fought to build.
New Characters Join Sakamoto’s Dangerous Assassin World
The Sakamoto Days Season 2 trailer introduces Etsuko Satoda, Sakamoto’s former teacher, alongside Amane Yotsumura, a conflicted student. The third new character is Amane’s elusive father, Satoru Yatsumura, whose arrival further expands the connections and conflicts surrounding the story.
The new season follows Sakamoto and Shin as they infiltrate JCC, Japan’s assassin training institution, to investigate the mysterious X. Elsewhere, ORDER members Nagumo, Shishiba and Osaragi travel to Kyoto for an assignment before being ambushed by an unexpected enemy.
As the larger conspiracy develops, Season 2 will also explore the shared history between Sakamoto, Nagumo, Rion and Slur. Based on Yuto Suzuki’s manga, which has surpassed 15 million copies in circulation worldwide, Sakamoto Days returns to Netflix in January 2027.
