Sankaku Head is bringing Himouto! Umaru-chan back with a brand-new manga titled Umaru-chan 100. The creator announced the new project during a livestream on Niconico on September 26, confirming that the series will debut on Shueisha’s digital platform Young Jump+ on October 1. Sankaku Head also shared the announcement through his social media account.
The announcement marks the return of one of Sankaku Head’s most recognizable characters after the original manga concluded in 2017.
Umaru-chan Returns With a New Manga
The original Himouto! Umaru-chan began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in 2013 after earlier chapters appeared in Miracle Jump. The series ended in 2017 after 12 collected volumes and followed Umaru Doma, a seemingly perfect high school student who transforms into a lazy, snack-loving gamer once she returns home.
The manga became a major franchise, receiving two television anime seasons produced by Doga Kobo. The first season premiered in 2015, followed by Himouto! Umaru-chan R in 2017. Several spinoff manga were also released during the franchise’s original run.
Details about the story and format of Umaru-chan 100 remain limited. The confirmed information currently includes the title, Sankaku Head’s involvement, and its October 1 debut on Young Jump+.
The new project arrives as Sankaku Head moves toward a more sustainable manga schedule. The creator previously announced plans to step away from weekly serialization because of his health and his desire to spend more time with his children, shifting toward monthly serialization instead.
For now, fans will not have to wait long to see what the creator has planned for Umaru. Umaru-chan 100 officially launches on October 1, 2026.
