The second season of Sasaki and Peeps is officially gearing up for its October return, with Kadokawa revealing several major updates for the fantasy comedy anime. The newly released main promotional video offers a closer look at what is ahead while previewing “Unbroken,” the new opening theme performed by MADKID.
The announcement also introduces two new characters to the voice cast. Tasuku Hatanaka joins the series as Himegami-kun, while Yū Sasahara will voice Eriel. The additional characters expand an already extensive ensemble surrounding Sasaki and his extraordinary companion, Peeps.
Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 Gets October Premiere
Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 will premiere in Japan on October 7, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. JST, with broadcasts scheduled for Tokyo MX and BS NTV. AT-X will also air the season, while Crunchyroll is confirmed to stream the new episodes internationally. The official anime website has also confirmed that the first episode will receive a one-hour special broadcast, giving the sequel an extended opening.
The production continues at SILVER LINK., although the second season features several staff changes. Yūshi Ibe, who previously worked as an episode director on the first season, takes over as director, with Yamato Ouchi serving as assistant director. Deko Akao returns to oversee the series composition, while Saori Nakashiki continues as character designer and chief animation director alongside Yuki Sawairi.
The returning cast includes Tomokazu Sugita as Sasaki and Aoi Yūki as Peeps, alongside Akari Kitō as Otonari-san, Rie Takahashi as Hoshizaki, Naomi Ōzora as Shizuka Futari, Miyu Tomita as Elsa and Inori Minase as Magical Pink.
The story follows an exhausted office worker whose life changes after bringing home what appears to be an ordinary bird. Peeps is actually a powerful sage from another world who gives Sasaki supernatural abilities and allows him to travel between worlds. What begins as an attempt to escape an unfulfilling corporate routine quickly becomes a much larger adventure involving magic, political conflicts and unusual characters.
The first season premiered in January 2024 and ran for 12 episodes. With Season 2 approaching, the new trailer and expanded cast suggest that Sasaki’s increasingly complicated life is about to become even more chaotic.
