Fans of SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table have a new reason to be excited, as KADOKAWA has officially reveals fresh details about the series’ upcoming chapter, 44: CLOUDY BEACH. Alongside confirming a worldwide streaming debut on July 13, 2026, the publisher also released the first Game PV, giving viewers their first opportunity to hear the anime’s voice cast while previewing the next deadly survival game awaiting protagonist Yuki.

Adapted from Yushi Ukai’s award-winning light novel series, SHIBOYUGI has built a reputation for combining psychological suspense with high-stakes survival games. The newest installment shifts the story to an isolated island where experienced players once again risk their lives in pursuit of survival and prize money.

CLOUDY BEACH brings Yuki’s 44th death game to a remote island

The upcoming chapter follows Yuki, a professional death-game player who continues competing despite relying on a prosthetic body and surviving dozens of previous games. Having already overcome the infamous “Wall of Thirty,” a milestone known for dramatically lowering players’ chances of survival, Yuki now enters her 44th deadly competition.

This new game, titled CLOUDY BEACH, gathers eight contestants on a secluded island with no contact with the outside world. At first glance, escaping the island appears to be the only condition for victory. However, the situation quickly changes after the players wake up to discover a brutally dismembered body, turning the survival challenge into a tense mystery where nobody knows the true rules.

The newly released Game PV highlights the eerie atmosphere of the island while showcasing the voices of the main cast for the first time.

Returning veterans and mysterious newcomers join the game

Several familiar faces return alongside Yuki for the new chapter. Airi, another survivor from the earlier CANDLE WOODS game, reunites with the protagonist, while veteran competitor Essay returns with her intelligence-focused approach to survival.

The cast also includes first-time encounters such as Koyomi, an experienced player with rumored connections to Hakushi, the quiet and expressionless Hizumi, towering regular Maguma, carefree contestant Mitsuba, and timid newcomer Mozuku. With players ranging from first-timers to seasoned veterans, the island becomes a battleground where trust may prove just as dangerous as the game itself.
