Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter will take a roughly six-month hiatus following the release of Chapter 44, with manga creator Ichi Yukishiro confirming that the series is expected to return in spring 2027. The announcement was included with the 44th chapter and attributed the break to stress that had been building over an extended period.
Yukishiro explained that efforts had already been made to reduce the workload, including shorter chapter page counts and a lighter serialization schedule. However, the creator noted that the accumulated stress was still affecting the manga, leading to the decision to step away from serialization.
Yukishiro’s Skull Dragon’s Precious Daughter (Hone Dragon no Manamusume) originally launched on Mag Garden’s Mag Comi website in 2020. The manga follows an aging dragon living in the Forest of Scraps who takes in an abandoned five-year-old girl named Eve.
After the dragon eventually dies, Eve is left alone before the story takes an unexpected turn involving his resurrection. The dragon then sets out with Eve to help her gain control over her magical abilities while his revived body begins to deteriorate.
J-Novel Club publishes the manga digitally, while Seven Seas Entertainment handles its English print release. Mag Garden published the sixth compiled volume in August 2025.
The manga is also receiving a television anime adaptation, which was announced in March 2026.
With Chapter 44 marking the start of the hiatus, fans will now have to wait until spring 2027 for the manga’s planned return.
