The Tiny Metal franchise is officially making the jump to anime with Tiny Metal: Zero Line, a new adaptation based on AREA35’s turn-based tactical strategy series.
The project was revealed at Japan Expo in Paris, where attendees received an exclusive screening of the pilot episode on July 9, alongside the first teaser trailer and key visual.
Studio Khara veteran leads the anime adaptation
Hiroyasu Kobayashi, known for his work as CGI director on Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX and the Rebuild of Evangelion films, has been confirmed as director. The anime is being produced by SAFEHOUSE, while acclaimed illustrator Yusuke Kozaki, recognized for his work on the Fire Emblem series, is handling character designs.
During the Japan Expo presentation, Kozaki also created a live illustration of Lysandra Echo, a brand-new character who will debut in the upcoming game Tiny Metal 2. The production team confirmed that additional staff members and voice cast details will be announced at a later date.
New story expands the Tiny Metal universe
Tiny Metal: Zero Line takes place after the devastating Great War, when powerful weapons known as Lost Tech remain hidden beneath the world’s surface. The story follows Major Nathan Gries, who believes the dangerous relics must be secured before they fall into enemy hands.
His mission begins after an urgent transmission reports an unexplained signal beneath the Northridge Alps, setting him on a collision course with other key figures, including Lord General Isoroku Tsukumo and Wolfram, leader of the White Fangs.
The anime arrives as SAFEHOUSE continues work on the cinematic sequences for Tiny Metal 2, which is scheduled to launch in Spring 2027. The sequel will also feature music by Go Shiina, known for his work on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, further expanding the franchise’s growing multimedia universe.
