Tsutomu Nihei’s Tower Dungeon has surpassed 1 million copies in circulation worldwide, marking a significant milestone for the acclaimed manga creator. The achievement was announced on August 6 through the official social media account for Nihei’s editorial team, confirming the series’ continued growth across international markets.

Nihei launched Tower Dungeon in Monthly Shonen Sirius in October 2023, introducing readers to a dark fantasy adventure centered on a dangerous tower filled with monsters and other threats. Kodansha released the manga’s sixth compiled volume in Japan on March 9, while Kodansha USA has been publishing the series in English.

The story follows Yuva, a young farmhand recruited by the Royal Guard after an evil sorcerer kills the king, steals his body and abducts the princess. Armed with little more than a pot lid for protection and his physical strength, Yuva joins the rescue mission into the mysterious Dragon Tower.

The series has also received additional promotional attention. In March 2026, Tower Dungeon released a promotional video featuring animated sequences produced by Studio Keel, giving fans a brief visual glimpse of Nihei’s dark fantasy world.
