Luna Goami and Ginger Root

Anticipation for Sparks of Tomorrow continues to build as its official theme songs and release schedule have now been confirmed. The anime, produced by Kyoto Animation, will feature an opening theme by Luna Goami and an ending track by Ginger Root, with both songs arriving globally in July 2026.

The opening song, “Eureka Evrika,” is set to release on July 6, while the ending theme “Soarin’” will follow on July 13 across major streaming platforms. These releases come just days after the anime’s premiere on July 5, when Sparks of Tomorrow begins airing in Japan and streaming worldwide exclusively on Netflix. The timing highlights how central music will be to the show’s experience.

A Steampunk Kyoto Story With Emotional Depth

Sparks of Tomorrow is set in an alternate version of early 20th-century Kyoto, where steam-powered technology shapes society. At its core, the story follows two young characters whose lives intersect under unusual circumstances. One is a boy fascinated by the promise of electricity, while the other is a girl dealing with the lingering memory of her mother.

This blend of emotional storytelling and technological curiosity gives the anime a distinct tone. Kyoto Animation, known for character-driven narratives, appears to be leaning into both spectacle and introspection with this project.

The opening theme “Eureka Evrika” is composed by Hitomi Koto, who is also responsible for the anime’s full musical score. With lyrics written by Luna Goami, the track is designed to reflect the energy and ambition of the story through a mix of strong percussion and sweeping orchestral elements.

Goami has shared that working on the project was both inspiring and personal. She explored the anime’s themes of belief and uncertainty while writing the lyrics, drawing from her surroundings and creative instincts. The phrase “Eureka Evrika” itself represents a moment of realization, aligning closely with the story’s focus on discovery and change.

Her experience during production also added emotional weight to the song, as she revealed she was pregnant at the time. That connection is expected to bring an added sense of authenticity to the performance.

Ginger Root Delivers a Dream Project With “Soarin’”

Closing out each episode will be Ginger Root’s “Soarin’,” a track entirely crafted by Cameron Lew. Known for his unique indie sound, Lew builds the song from a subdued, atmospheric opening into a more rhythm-driven progression that mirrors emotional growth.

For Lew, the project represents a milestone moment. As an anime fan, he described the opportunity as surreal and explained that the song’s title reflects the idea of reaching beyond limits. That theme ties directly into the anime’s narrative, reinforcing its message about chasing ambitions and overcoming doubt.
