AMC Global Media has dropped a new addition to its Summer 2026 anime slate, confirming that The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Road Trip in Another World will begin streaming this July on HIDIVE. The announcement arrived alongside the release of the anime’s first promotional video, giving fans an early look at what to expect from the upcoming series.
Positioned as one of HIDIVE’s exclusive simulcast titles for the season, the anime will be available across multiple regions, including North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. The platform continues to expand its reach with first-run anime releases, and this latest title reflects its focus on niche yet increasingly popular genres.
A Different Kind of Isekai Story

Unlike traditional isekai series that focus on battles and high-stakes adventures, this anime takes a slower and more character-driven approach. The story follows Rin Takanashi, a woman in her late twenties who is summoned to another world as a saint but is quickly abandoned.
Instead of becoming a hero, Rin chooses a quieter path, relying on her overpowered survival skills and her unique mobile companion, Mochan. She travels across the fantasy world, exploring new locations, preparing food, and forming connections along the way. The narrative centers on cooking, travel, and everyday experiences, making it a strong example of the growing “slow-life” isekai trend.
This blend of gourmet storytelling and fantasy exploration gives the series a distinct identity, especially at a time when audiences are increasingly drawn to relaxing and atmospheric anime.
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Yoneori and illustrated by Akane Nitou, which first debuted in 2019. Since then, the series has expanded into multiple volumes under Kadokawa Shoten, building a steady fanbase that has helped drive anticipation for the adaptation.
The anime version brings together a creative team with experience in character-focused storytelling. Atsushi Nigorikawa is directing the project, while Takashi Aoshima is responsible for the series composition. Character design is handled by Akane Nitou alongside Izumi Ishii, maintaining a strong visual connection to the original source material.
Production is being handled by EMT Squared in collaboration with Ankichi Kobo, with the studios aiming to capture the relaxing tone and detailed world-building that define the story.
The voice cast features Sora Tokui in the lead role as Rin Takanashi, bringing her signature energy to a character defined by independence and curiosity. Yuki On joins the cast as Ville, adding to the dynamic of Rin’s journey through the fantasy world.
Given the story’s focus on personal experiences and interactions, performances will play a major role in shaping the anime’s appeal. The combination of experienced voice actors and a character-driven narrative is expected to resonate with fans of slice-of-life anime.

HIDIVE Strengthens Its Seasonal Lineup
The addition of The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Road Trip in Another World highlights HIDIVE’s continued investment in exclusive simulcast content. As competition between anime streaming platforms increases, securing unique titles has become essential for attracting and retaining subscribers.
HIDIVE President John Ledford emphasized the importance of the series in the platform’s upcoming lineup, noting that it combines two of the most popular anime genres today. He described it as one of the most anticipated shows of the season and a strong example of the platform’s commitment to delivering diverse content.
This approach reflects a broader trend in the industry, where streaming services are focusing on genre variety rather than relying solely on mainstream action titles.
