The anime follows a classroom transported into another world, blending survival and fantasy storytelling.

The fantasy isekai series Loner Life in Another World (Hitoribotchi no Isekai Kōryaku) has officially been renewed for a second season, as confirmed by the anime’s production staff on July 4, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by celebratory illustrations from the original light novel and manga artists, marking the continuation of one of the more steadily growing titles in recent years.

The anime originally premiered in October 2024, introducing audiences to the story of Haruka, a loner student transported into a fantasy world along with his classmates. Despite his preference for solitude, Haruka is forced to navigate a dangerous new reality using unconventional skills, setting the tone for the series’ mix of survival fantasy and comedic group dynamics.

Story and adaptation background

Published by Seven Seas Entertainment, the series follows Haruka as he struggles to adapt after being transported to another world where magical abilities are distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. By the time he receives his powers, only unusual and less conventional skills remain available, forcing him to survive using creativity rather than raw strength.

The anime adaptation featured Shūichirō Umeda as Haruka, alongside Haruka Shiraishi and Saori Hayami, bringing key characters to life in the television adaptation.

The first season was directed by Akio Kazumi at studios Hayabusa Film and Passione, with series composition handled by Kenta Ihara, known for his work on Ishura and The Blue Wolves of Mibu. Character design was led by Keiya Nakano, while monster and sub-character designs were handled by Toshiya Washida and Hanako Kikuchi.

Haruka, the protagonist of the series, continues his survival journey in the fantasy isekai world.

The original light novel series, written by Shoji Goji, began publication on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform in 2016 and has since grown significantly in popularity. The franchise now boasts over 2.8 million copies in circulation, including both print and digital editions.

The manga adaptation by Bibi launched in 2019 and continues to expand the story across multiple formats. Meanwhile, the anime’s first season was streamed internationally through platforms including HIDIVE, which also provided an English dub.

The franchise continues to expand globally, with Seven Seas releasing English-language editions of both the novels and manga under its Airship imprint.
