The anime adaptation of Garena’s Free Fire has officially received its title, Free Fire Daybreak, along with a new key visual and a confirmed Spring 2027 premiere window.
The announcement was made through the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, offering fans their first detailed look at the long-awaited project.
The series is being co-produced by Garena and Kadokawa, with plans for a worldwide broadcast and streaming release, making it one of the most anticipated game-to-anime adaptations in development.
According to the Free Fire Daybreak X account, Ken Takahashi, known for Ragna Crimson and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, is directing the anime. Candy Box, the studio behind Blue Archive The Animation and Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!, is handling animation production, while Sus4 Inc. is composing the music.
Originally launched in December 2017, Garena Free Fire is a third-person battle royale game where players compete to become the last survivor on a shrinking battlefield. The title became the world’s most downloaded mobile game from 2019 to 2021, according to Sensor Tower, and reached 100 million daily active users in 2024.
With its global popularity and dedicated fanbase, Free Fire Daybreak aims to expand the franchise beyond gaming when it premieres in Spring 2027.
